The road trip that took 3 weeks but ended in a lifetime of memories... First stop on our road trip--St. Louis arch. We arrived in the middle of the Independence Day celebrations. Jules and I look like thugs hiding under the arch. Kansas. Kansas is flat...that goes not only for the terrain but for the amount of excitement there. I am flat too...flat up against the wall at the most interesting site in Kansas: the tourist information center.
Rocky Mountain National Park...just in case you didn't know how to read.
Here I am in the middle of the Rockies next to a waterfall with my hands on my hips like a pop princess and a fanny pack...yikes...
My daddy and me back safely at camp level after an exhausting climb up and back down the mountains.
Juliana and me sitting on a sign...
Nice picture, eh? Juliana amongst the yellow-golden-happy flowers (yeah, that's the uhm, scientific name for that particular species...for all you botonists out there) in front of the Grand Tetons
More Grand Tetons. Looks like a scene from a movie, doesn't it? Sound of music or something? But nah...ian took that shot =P
Yay! We've reached Yellowstone--the first national park ever created and also one of the most famous wildlife preserves!
i know what you're thinking, but no no....iiiiii'm not an old geyser...this is the famous geyser in yellowstone known as old faithful...i'm standing in front of it
Haha! Look at the happy family. They're smiling all big for the camera because they think Old Faithful is erupting right behind them. Apparently Old Faithful isn't very faithful after all.
The little black bear cub that stopped traffic for a mile and gave a show (tearing down a dead tree stump and eating the ants underneath) for which we had front row seats =)
Yellowstone Falls. Gorgeous isn't it? No, not the kid...the waterfall...the idiot to the right decided to blink at an inopportune time...doesn't the background look fake? weird...
Here we are in front of the state capital building in Salt Lake...at least I thiiink it's Salt Lake. Bob and I debated...he thinks this picture's from Denver...whatever...we're in front of some building somewhere west
Ooooh...we in Nevada! Where 'dem slot machines at?
Mommy and Bob at Lake Tahoe!
Yosemite's famous half-dome at sunset with sunlight reaching only the top half of the half-dome! And look! It's half-Bob! haha...i'm obscuring his other half!
Yosemite falls at sunset...isn't it beautiful? Sigh...the scene is so breathtakingly beautiful that i'm about to faint like a fair maiden in distress...notice my hand on my cheek...
Final destination for me: Cazadero Performing Arts Camp in the middle of a Redwood forest
At Caz and sooooo happy to be there! Look! I'm already practicing for my seating audition...sort of anyway =) But Caz was fun...the beds were outside since it hardly rained, so every night I'd go to bed staring at the stars...amazing experience |
